Hello September

Hola!
(Guess who's been in Spain...)

So I am very aware that I am late to the party but I have decided I'm going to do the 'hello different month' blog posts and set myselfs little targets or hopes for each month or maybe just document what is happening in the month!

Ooooh don't you just love Autumn/ Winter?? I love it!& September marks the beginning of all of that! So here's 10 things I'm looking forward to in September 2014!

1) Blackberrying!
Every year for the past 5 or 6 years my grandad has taken me blackberrying across the fields in the little village where he and my granny live! I look forward to it every year! If your planning on blackberrying early to middle September is the best time to do so!

2) My Birthday!
On the 28th it's my 18th Birthday! I look forward to my birthday every year but I'm looking forward to it even more this year because I'm going to be 18 and that means (technically) I'm an adult...

3) Driving!
Some of you maybe aware that on the 11th of August I passed my driving test... Finally! However I had such a busy August( which I shall make future blog posts on) I didn't drive really at all and now in September I'm looking forward to being able to drive!

4) New Beginings
This September a lot of different things are happening in Emily world and lots of different opportunities keep appearing for me and in September I'm going to have to make some very tricky decisions which are worrying me to death trying to decide but I know whichever I pick I shall be happier!

5) Goodbyes
This one isn't a 'look forward to' but it's happening this September so I may as well put it on this post! I have a few very hard goodbyes to say this September. One of my best friends is moving across the globe to Austraila( I'm super jealous) but that means a very sad goodbye for a while. My other best friend is moving away for uni and off to Newcastle which is about 5 hours away from me! It's quite overwhelming knowing both best friends are moving so far away but they're both going for such amazing opportunities so the goodbyes are celebrations too!

6) Autumn Walks!
As much as summer is great, going for walks in the heat is not as fun as wrapping up a bit more or putting a coat on and walking through your local park dragging your feet through the Russelly leaves! I look forward to Autumn walks!

7) Baking!
I've decided that I want to start baking more again in September! I absolutely love baking and used to bake all the time but exam stress and school stress took hold and I haven't for ages so in September I hope that I get my baking buzz back! ( if there's anything you'd like me to bake and blog about leave a comment)

8) Weekend TV!
Yay! Towards Christmas we always get weekend TV back! With X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing ( which is my fave shhhh) and Sunday night bbc/itv drama's all hitting our tv screens it would be rude not to spend my weekend nights snuggled up watching TV! ( wild teen I know)

9) Motivation
After the joys of having summer to frolic around and do nothing for almost 2 months I need my routine back and lots and lots of motivation and I hope in September I start to notice the difference!

10) Happiness
Over the past year I have not been unhappy but my happiness has not been top of my priority lists and has sometimes been pushed aside and left for a whole so I've decided September I shall dedicate more time for my happiness! Even if it's just a facemask and a book on a Sunday night!

Wow! That was a lot harder than I thought it would be but I really have enjoyed almost structuring my month! What are you doing this month? Or what are you aiming for? Leave me a comment!

Hope you all have a lovely September!

The Isle of Wight!

Hello there lovelies!

Today is again is more of a lifestyle blog post for you which I said in my live the adventure post that I would start doing more of ( you can read that post here -http://prettylittlehighstreetfinds.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/live-adventure.html?m=1 ) so that's exactly what I shall be doing!

Recently I've been loving the "staycation" trend where people are finding places in there own country to holiday to! So here's my recommendation for you because I've been going for absolute years and still love it every time! ( ps the weather is great it seems to have it's own little climate!!)

Last weekend and for the past 17 years my family and I have been holidaying to the Isle of Wight. This year we got up super early and drove down to Southampton and got on the hour long ferry to the Isle of Wight! We only stayed 4 days, but the Isle of Wight is my favourite place in England!

Where is the Isle of Wight?
For those who don't know where it is or those who are out of the UK the Isle of Wight is a tiny island at the bottom of the UK you can get to it by ferry for either Portsmouth(Wight link ferries) which only takes half an hour or Southampton ( red funnel ferries) which takes an hour!

Where to stay and what to do!
I stay in a lovely hotel called the Sandringham on the sea front in Sandown! Sandown is a lovely place to stay because the beach is beautiful and well kept, there are many little holiday/beach shops and it is defiantly not short of beach side cafés. Sandown also has a pier which is perfect for all ages with amusements, small rides, photo booths and restaurants and bars!

There are so many things to see and do on the Isle of Wight and unlike many other holiday places you are not restricted to one area or place, on the Island you can go to any town within half an hour, 45 mins top (drive) & there are hundreds of buses which are easy to navigate and go all across the island also.
Some things which might interest you are
- going to see the needles and multi coloured sands at Alum bay.

- Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill are also worth going to, both being family attraction parks! Both are a brilliant day out and if you buy a ticket for one you get a free pass into the other for a week or something like that so defo worth it!

- Driftwood Beach Cafe and Bar! This one is my absolute must visit place! It's on Sandown beach, it's very surfer chic and just all round amazing! They are a cafe/ restaurant during the day and at night they are a bar with live music and cocktails! What could be better than cocktails by the beach?!

- Finally one last thing which you should go and see when your on the Island is as many of it's beautiful beaches as you can! Sandown, Shanklin and Ryde are my top 3!
Playing with my panorama thingy on my phone( I don't do technology don't hate meeeee)

Oh and don't forget a good book! Mine this year was Bridget Jones: Mad about a boy!

I was really hoping to do a holiday look book blog post but what did I do? Complete forget to take any nice blog appropriate photos of my outfits for you:( I do go to Spain in a few weeks so I might do a look book and what I'm taking and travel essentials blog post!

Thank you for reading this super random blog post, if you've come this far why not leave me a comment on one of your favourite places to visit in the uk? I'm really enjoying the whole "staycation" trend at the moment so would love some new places to visit!

H&M face masks!

Bonjour my darlings!

Yes I'm posting on my blog, on a Saturday! Like I should every week! Oppsy!

My long term; long distance friend came all the way from New Zealand and stayed with me for a week in England! When in the Oxford street H&M we found their face masks which living in such a small town we don't have them in our h&m! So with them only being 99p each I picked up a few and we decided to give them a go and have a girly pamper night!

I bought two of the Raspberry smoothie ones and two of the other berry smoothie ones! I've only used the Raspberry one so far but it was the best face mask I have ever used ever ever ever! It leaves your skin feeling happy and moisturised which made me super happy because I have been suffering with dry skin on my forehead for the past few weeks and this sorted the problem!
Not only is it super beneficial to your skin it also smells amazing and is so easy and nice to put on, it's like a moisturiser texture and not super sticky and it goes on really easily and washes off just the same!

If your looking for a face mask for a girly night but are on a budget then defo the H&M ones because they are such good value and are so amazing to use!

Sorry this is only a short blog post I will do some better ones this week!

What face masks do you use? Let me know in the comments!

Live the Adventure

Good Morning Worldddd!

It's Sunday morning and I've decided that I want to do a bit of a different blog post for you today! Although this blog has primarily been beauty based so far, which I apologise for, I did say that I wanted to do some lifestyle posts for you to, so here we are!

Live the Adventure

Recently my friend who's a year older than me has been offered the most amazing opportunity but it's the other side of the world and he's really struggling to make a decision on what to do! This really excited me and inspired this blog post!

If your going to live by anything in your life it should be 'just do it'. It's what I live by. You can spend your entire life doing what you want to do, travelling the world, seeing different places, exploring different cultures and learning new things! You don't even have to leave the country you live in if you don't want to, just find things that will make you happy and give you new experiences, our you could base your life around what makes other people happy and only do things which keep the other people around you happy. If the people around you don't support what YOU want to do then they don't deserve to be in your life!

Sometimes I think it's hard to work out what makes you happy because you've spent so long trying to fit in or do things which the people around you enjoy rather than what you enjoy!

So make the change which I have made recently, withdraw yourself for just a day, and find what really makes YOU happy, no one else just you. When you've done this you will have a whole new perspective on life and everything you do. I guarantee that as soon as you start doing what makes you happy and thinking about yourself you will feel so much better and become a much happier person!

If I could give one bit of advise to everyone it would be to,

Live the life that you want to lead.

I really hope that this hasn't come across as me being preachy and shoving my opinions down your throat! I didn't want it to be like that, I just wanted to remind you all that your happiness is important too!

I'm going to leave this post with a really lovely quote which I found on Pinterest this morning, which relates to this post!

Thank you for reading and I hope this has helped you in becoming a happier person!

Let me know in the comments what makes you happy and/ or places to visit which have made you happy!

What's in my make up bag? April 2014

Okay! I know I said I was going to update more regularly but I haven't been:-( in my defence I took these photos for this post back in Feb, just never got round to writing a post on it! So here goes...

WHATS IN MY MAKE UP BAG?

Before we begin I really don't have any order to this and my make up bag is full of the most random bits and pieces!

First of we have a picture of my make up bag. My make up bag is a travel/wash bag from ted baker with a beautiful see through butterfly print which I love. Unfortunately it is a bit small for all my make up and I can't actually close it so I'm definatly looking for a new bigger make up bag? Any suggestions?
My make up bag.

Okay so now for what's actually in it! I have my favourite three which is my foundation which is a collection colour match one in Light 2, the baby skin pore eraser which I cannot live without and then maybelline dream fresh BB cream! All three I use ALOT and are my make up essentials!
My favourite three.

Next is my mascara's, I don't use mascara on a regular basis which I know for a beauty blogger is extremely weird but I'm constantly rubbing my eyes because of my hayfever especially this time of year so I don't bother haha! Only of I go out. But for someone who doesn't wear it very often I have LOADS! I won't explain them all to you because I've made it so you can see the names, they are all in black. But my favourite is the big and bold NYC one. If you do want any reviews or me to tell you about them and what they are please comment below!
My mascara collection! Opps!

Next in my make up bag I have my concealers, I have three. The collection cover up stick, Hit The Spot concealer(one bought from my local drug store) and Avons color trend concealer. I like the ones in almost lipstick packaging, can you tell haha? The Hit The Spot is probably my favourite & it was only 99p which is even better!

My three concealers!

Moving on I have my eyeliners, don't really have many eyeliners again because I very rarely use them unless I'm going out sonewhere! I have one liquid which is absolutely brilliant, may write a review on this one soon. It's the Rimmel Scandaleyes fine point eyeliner. The next is a collection Kohl black pencil eyeliner again which I quite like and lastly a glitter eyeliner which I bought YEARS ago from collection and finally just a body shop pot of glitter I can apply on top of my eyeliner!
Eyeliners!

Next we have all of my face powders, blushes and bronzes! I'm not going to explain all of these as they are pretty self explanatory but again if you want me to or want any reviews please comment below.
Face powders!

Next we have all my 'tools' if you like! I have many brushes and sharpeners which are definatly a necessity in every make up bag! My foundation brush, the pink one, is from primark and it was £1.50 and it's honestly the best one I've used! The rest are mainly from the body shop years ago!

Face tools

Okay nearly finished now! Next we have all of my eyeshadows, again I don't use them very often but I like to have a collection for when I go out. Maybe this year I should try from now I. To wear more eye make up! I have an MUA pallet, some No.7 singles and some Barry M dazzle dust pots a loreal single, colour tattoo pot and then some cheap pallets!
Eyeshadows.

LASTLY on the make up side of things is the favourite part of my make up bag... MY lipsticks!!!! I absolutely adore lipsticks! I have absolutely loads and there is still so many I want!
Below are all my MUA lipsticks which as you probably know are all £1 each. I want to get all 16 basic shades then all their matte ones too!

MUA lipsticks

Below is all of my Avon ones. Mostly the colour trend ones. I have got two more avon lipsticks since I took these photos but I'll share them with you another day!

Avon lipsticks.

Lastly I have my more "high end" lipsticks. Although my blog is all about the cheap and amazing products it wouldn't be fair for me to judge them as good if I haven't tried the other more high end ones so I have a topshop one, a Mac one, a Dior lipgloss and then just some collection and others which didn't fit any of the other lipstick categories before!

Here's all of my lipsticks together aww

Lipsticks

now for just some super random things which I keep in my make up bag!

Bobby pins and hairbands-  every girls best friend.

Make up wipes, these are No.7 and are fab!

A nail file and my favorite nail varnishes and also a nail design pallet thingy and eyelash glue...( told you it was random!!)

My VO5 hair oooomph powder!

OK SO THATS IT!! That is my make up collection!
Well isn't that one of the longest blog posts ever! If you've managed to read all the way to here I salute you and thank you! If you have any questions on any of the products or you want to know what one is or you want reviews please let me know. Also if you want any particular blog posts in the future please let me know!

Collection 2000 Colour Match Foundation

Hi there!

Ooooh it's Wednesday and look at me being motivated and organised and posting!

Today's blog post is based around the foundation which I've been using for the past few months which is the Collection 2000 ( I thought they'd changed to just Collection but this is a new product and they're labeled as Collection 2000) Colour Match Foundation.

I realise I'm holding it wonky and can I take a moment to apologise for my awful nails. Must paint them pretty soon!

This foundation is absolutely brilliant. I've been using dream matte mousse for so many years I decided I wanted a change and I also had no money so this was perfect. At £5.99 it really is a bargain!! It's SPF 20 and uses the whole oxygen complex to let your skin breath. It honestly doesn't feel like your wearing foundation it's great but it gives a very natural finish.

My skins not brilliant and with no make up quite blotchy but this foundation adapts to your skin tone and reflects your natural tones which is absolutely great as I don't have any bloches but I don't looked "caked" in make up.

It's a really great liquid foundation which is so inexpensive and lasts a really long time. I wear make up pretty much everyday and one bottle lasts me on average 2 months if not more.

The colour I have it in is light 2. My skin tone is between ivory and beige they both work well. So light 2 fits me perfectly.

I'd also like to mention the packaging. I love the fact that it is a glass bottle with pink writing and a pink lid as it is really simple and doesn't look tacky like some cheap foundations but also doesn't look to over the top and fancy. It's simple but classy and I love the casing for this foundation.

I would definatly recommend this foundation to anyone. I'll leave a link below so you can check it and and see what other colours they have and the price ect ect.

Thank you for reading this post! Please follow meeee!

Comment or tweet me what you want to see me do next. What you liked, disliked and any products which you would want me to review!

Sunday I'll be posting a "what's in my make up bag" blog so make sure you keep an eye out.
